Yeah, you guessed it right, it’s easy as anything, you don’t have to scratch your head, and no rocket science is involved in this.

Documents required for UK Visa application

  • Original passport and old passports, if any.
  • Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission of the visa, with a minimum of three blank pages.
  • The visa application form duly filled (online) by the applicant, under the guidance of our travel experts
  • 2 recent passport-size color photographs taken against a white background with matte-finish (size 35 mm x 45 mm and 60% - 80% face close-up) 
    Note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
  • Covering letter mentioning details of travel, details of the traveler, purpose of visit and duration of stay. The letter should be duly signed by authorized signatory with company stamp and addressed to the Visa Officer, British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata.
  • Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years.
  • Original bank statements reflecting transactions for the last 6 months, duly attested and signed by a bank official.
  • Proof of investments - Mutual funds, fixed deposits, national saving certificates, stocks & shares, etc.
  • Hotel confirmation details.

Additional documents

If the applicant is employed:

  • Salary slips for the last 6 months
  • Original leave letter from employer

If the applicant is a company owner or self-employed:

  • Certificate of registration of the company / Certificate of Incorporation (MOA / Proof of Proprietorship / Partnership etc.)
  • Covering letter on the company letterhead and financial documents

If the applicant is Student:

  • Original NOC letter from school/college with ID card copy
  • Original NOC letter from parents, Income Tax Returns and Bank statements

 

FAQs

·         What is the duration of tourist visit to the UK?

The maximum you can stay in the UK is six months as a general visitor. If however your visa was granted for a period of fewer than six months, you may apply for an extension of your visa which takes you up to the maximum of six months. Please note that upon the expiry of your visa, you are required to leave the UK.

·         Can you stay in the UK after your Visa expires?

If you do not leave the UK or apply to extend your stay before your visa expires, you become an 'overstayer'. Overstaying is a criminal offense. There is no 'grace period' once your visa expires. You will have no legal permission to be in the UK until you get a new visa.

·         Can you track your UK Visa Application?

Online visa application tracking is NOT AVAILABLE on UK Visas and Immigration website.

·         How long will it take to process your Visa application?

In peak seasons they take 4-6 weeks and in non-peak seasons it takes 2-4 weeks.
